Was recommended to T P by friends. Needed a flex pipe welded . .. did a great job.. no upsell. No the usual . you need this .. u should get that while we have it on the lift. They know what there doing .. The price was less then I expected but it wasn't free.... as it should be.. Buy Local!! PS I found Mike to be an extremely Handsome man.. lol .

I brought my 2006 Toyota Solara convertible (a very well-maintained car with only 60,780 miles on it upon leaving my keys to T.P. Brake and Muffler (a mistake I will never make again) to replace a tire damaged by a Utica pothole. What followed was an incredibly unprofessional and suspicious experience. I was told the car would be ready by lunch. When I called at 12:45, the staff seemed confused, asking what they should do since the tire couldn't be patched—even though we had already agreed that if it couldn't be fixed, they were to put a new tire on. When I finally called again at 2:00 PM, the guy who answered the phone told me "the keys were just handed back to me." When I arrived to pay, there was a short man in the lobby talking nonsense, whom I suspect was the one "handing back the keys." Now when I get back in the car I notice the seat is all the way forward and the seat mat I have to protect the weather beaten leather was thrown on the passenger seat. When I turned the car on I noticed the car was at 68,802 miles and I noticed the car wasn’t handling the same. I had a very frustrating and disappointing experience with TP Brake and Muffler. I initially called on Saturday, 5/2, and was told they couldn’t fit me in that day but advised me to bring my car in on Monday, 5/4 for an evaluation. On 5/4, I called ahead to confirm and was then told they were too busy and suggested I bring the car in on Tuesday, 5/5, drop off the keys early, and they would look at it first thing. Following their instructions, I dropped my keys off at 6:30 AM on 5/5, before they opened. After not hearing anything, I called at 2 PM and was told they still had not looked at my car but would be getting to it soon. By 3:30 PM, I arranged a ride to the shop, only to find that my car had not moved from the exact parking spot where I left it that morning. When I spoke with the manager, I was told they had gotten too busy and were still trying to get to it. What’s most frustrating is the lack of communication and transparency. No one called to inform me that they wouldn’t be able to look at my car that day, despite having it in their possession for hours. I lost an entire day without my vehicle based on their assurances. Let me preface this by admitting I can’t prove anything but this place is shady. In 2022 I got a brand new oil pan put in at a different mechanic. My very next oil change after that the mechanic was saying how great my oil pan looked and it was the cleanest he’d ever seen. Since then I’ve only ever brought my Jeep to TP, so they are the only ones who have touched her. Tell me how in the course of 4 years I went from “you have the cleanest oil pan we’ve ever seen on a used Jeep.” To June 2026 Tallman telling me “sorry, we can’t change your oil bc your oil pan is too rusted.” In four years my oil pan rusted that badly? In that case everyone should be rolling around with a rusted oil pan. Idk what they did but obviously something shady went down. There’s more that I could tell but I’m telling you I won’t ever be going back here and neither should you.

I’ve been here a few times for muffler work on a few different vehicles. The guys are nice, straightforward and always give you a price up front and explain what you need. This is the only place I go for muffler work in the Utica area. Trustworthiness is hard to find. Get there early and you won’t have to wait much to get seen, and then wander down to Willie’s for breakfast while you wait.
